Webinar Training Schedule

There is Singlefamily and Multifamily webinar training options.

Our webinars allow you to attend from the comfort of your home or office. Each is packed with information, and presented in real-time by one of our instructors – a presentation delivered over the internet with a simultaneous teleconference. You will watch the instructor using TREAT in real time and you can ask questions at any time. It’s very interactive. These webinars are one to two hours in length.

2008 TREAT Multifamily Software (3.0) Webinar Series Topics

April 16: Billing Analysis in TREAT – Use TREAT metered spaces feature to scale billing information for a multifamily building into the model. Analyzing utility billing information before the field audit can reveal important information about the facility.

May 14: The Key to TREAT: Improvement-Driven Modeling – Grasp this powerful concept and dramatically reduce your modeling time. Which parts of your base model must you account for in great detail and for which parts is this not as necessary?

June 11: The TREAT “True-up” Process– One of TREAT's most powerful features is the ability to 'True' up a model's predicted energy usage against actual energy usage on a weathernormalized basis. Learn how to combine TREAT's reporting tools and feedback pane, with a standardized approach to more easily bring a model's energy predictions in line with actual fuel usage before beginning to investigate the cost effectiveness of improvements to the building.

July 16: Leveraging TREAT Reporting Tools – The "Business Reports Tool" is a powerful and flexible tool for extracting information from the data object model that TREAT uses. This webinar will begin by demonstrating a process for using the "Business Reports Tool" to automatically populate the Energy Reduction Plan "Design Assistant" and "Detailed Measures Table." Learn how to interpret many of the key 'standard' TREAT output reports and create 'custom' reports.

August 13: A Btu (saved) is a Btu (saved) – Tips for modeling common (and not so common) improvements in multifamily buildings. Bring your own “hard to solve” scenarios to the webinar for discussion.

September 10: Fuel Conversions in TREAT – What you need to understand about the savings predictions when your improved heating plant uses a different fuel than the one in the base building.

October 8: Understanding HVAC Systems in TREAT – A look under the hood at the HVAC system algorithms and related calculations used in TREAT. TREAT HVAC systems use very similar algorithms to DOE 2.1E. Discussion will focus on the details of modeling typical systems.

November 12: Evaluating "Post Construction" Project Energy Savings –Import postconstruction utility bills into TREAT to analyze how the building's energy usage is performing as compared to the Energy Model predictions. This information is critical to understanding how well the building is performing compared to modeled expectations.

2008 TREAT Singlefamily Software (3.0) Webinar Series Topics

March 10: What’s to do with TREAT? (with field data collection best practices) – Review Field Data Collection forms and the underlying goals associated with data collection: Consistency of audits as well as information communication. Review a complete TREAT model with billing analysis, showcase ideal reporting conditions.

April 14: The Fastest TREAT in the Land – Using the New Building Wizard learn to optimize single-family buildings using the New Building Wizard. Create a new building and go to calculations. Discuss tactics, planning ahead for improvements.

May 12: My TREAT: Preferences & Editable libraries – Visual Inspections & Measurements Customizing your TREAT will be essential as your business grows and profits. Learn how to modify TREAT for your area and specific program. Managers will learn how to make sure all analysts are performing and reporting the same health and safety tests.

June 9: Achieving Savings in the Real World – Improvements and Packages Create sample improvements, calculate and price them. Create packages and compare savings to simple improvements. Address common misconceptions and assumptions in TREAT calculations.

July 14: Show me the Money – Understanding Financial Metrics with a Deeper SIR TREAT as a financial sales tool. Understanding the cash flow close. How to configure the financial data within TREAT to predict the customer interest rate.

Aug 18: TREAT as a Sales Tool – The Business Reports Tool Business Reports is a flexible template driven reporting tool that takes TREAT data and merges it with MS Word templates to create a quick, clean, professional customer ready report. Learn to use the stock reports and how to create and modify your own reports.

Sept 8: Beyond the Wizard – Making Edits to the Base Building The wizard can't do everything. It's fast and simple, but sacrifices complexity in construction and building shape. Learn how to take the wizard output and modify to be what you need. Learn when to skip the wizard completely.

Oct 20: Back of the Envelope – (Simple) Billing True-Up Billing true-up within 10% in under 20 minutes. Each model should be trued to actual utility bills, but in single-family you don't have time to create a spreadsheet to import and run the full billing analysis. Learn how to compare TREAT outputs to hard copies of utility bills and learn the best way to use the TREAT Billing Analysis.

Nov 10: Be your own Tech Support – Troubleshooting and the Model Inspector Did you ever get a model that uses 2 therms a year for heat? How about hot water that is 90% of the bill? Insulating an empty cavity has an SIR of .2? Learn to diagnose common mistakes for you and others in your office. Review the features of the Model Inspector for use with every model.

Dec 8: TREAT Mastery – Advanced Inputs (including weather data and defaults) TREAT is deep; there are buttons and input fields that even the best TREAT users have never used. Find and discuss some of the useful, but seldom-used advanced controls. Be the expert.
